Commissions

• Submitting a brief is a request, not a purchase. I review every brief and may decline any request, for example if I can't meet the date or the subject isn't a good fit.
• Once I accept your commission, you'll receive a secure payment link (processed by Stripe). Work begins after payment.
• Delivery times are counted from payment and are given in calendar days. If you've told me about an event date, I'll confirm before you pay whether I can meet it.
• Everything is delivered by email: a PDF of the sheet music, plus an MP3 recording where your package includes one.

Revisions and refunds

• Each package includes one revision, requested by following the steps in your delivery email. Further changes can be quoted separately.
• Because every tune is written from scratch for you, I don't offer refunds for a change of mind once composition has started. If I can't deliver what was agreed, or miss a date I confirmed, you'll receive a full refund.
• Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Who owns the music

As the composer, I keep the copyright in each tune. When your commission is paid in full, you receive a permanent, non-exclusive personal licence to:

• have the tune performed by any piper or band at any event, public or private;
• print, frame and display the sheet music;
• play, keep and share the recording, including on social media; and
• use the title you chose or approved.

Commercial use (releasing the tune on a recording for sale or streaming, publishing it in a collection, or using it in advertising) needs my written permission, which I'm usually happy to give.

Privacy

Your story is personal, and I treat it that way.

• What I collect: your name, email address, the story and details you submit, and payment status. I don't see or store your card details: Stripe handles payment.
• Why: only to compose your tune, communicate with you about it, and keep basic business records.
• Who processes it: your submission passes through Cloudflare (website hosting and spam protection via Turnstile), is delivered to my email (Google), and payments are processed by Stripe. These providers may store data outside Australia.
• Sharing: I never sell your information. Your story appears in my portfolio only if you've given permission, and then in anonymised form.
• Your choices: you can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing [email protected].
